How can i get my cat to drink more water?

He wont drink from a bowl so I purchased a water fountain for cats. He loved it for a week (hes trying to recover from a bladder infection due to not drinking enough water) I noticed the water level going down everyday and saw him drinking from it repeatedly. Suddenly he stopped and hasnt touched it in days, Im forced to syringe water into his mouth about 6 times a day to ensure he is hydrated and flushing out his infection. He wont even THINK about drinking any for himself. I tried putting down clam juice and chicken broth - no luck. I tried flavoring the fountain with said juices and ice cubes - no luck. I tried putting water/clam juice/chicken broth in with his food. NO LUCK. The boy WONT eat wet food. Now when i syringe him his water he fights me tooth and nail and sometimes refuses to swallow it, letting it dribble down his chin. Im forced to inject him in the back with fluids everyday to hydrate him. WHAT IS HIS PROBLEM.
