How hard would it be to start a twirling program/ have a feature twirler at a university?

I'd really love to attend a university that doesn't have a twirling team or a feature twirler. My problem? I'm a baton twirler and I want to further my twirling career by twirling with a college team or being a feature twirler. I still have a few years (I'm only a high school freshman). So, is there any chance of starting a twirling team or becoming a feature twirler? Could I contact the band director of the university and talk to them about it? By the time I reach college, I'll have been twirling for eleven years, so I'll have quite a bit of experience.
