Weird Question Regarding Shots?
Being paranoid. But don't worry- your nurse is more paranoid than you- they are trained to be. Remember- they do this all day every day and the danger for them is very real. They are EXTREMELY careful of how they handle contaminants. Remember too that her glove isn't touching your daughter- a sterile needle is. The nurse never touches the needle- only the cover. She never touches your baby where the hole was- she uses sterile gauze for that. Your baby's leg is sterilized before the needle in case she did touch it. She doesn't touch the slot opening where the needle goes in- just lifts the flap and pops it in! She throws away her gloves AND washes her hands after every patient. There is almost no danger of contamination- there literally has never been a case of this happening! Watch her closely next time.
